Manager – Commercial Loss

Location: Based at Head Office
Remuneration: R1,291,344 Total Cost to Company per annum

Purpose:
Reduce Unaccounted for Water, with the emphasis on commercial losses, by planning, coordinating, controlling, and managing commercial loss programs and projects such as the replacement and surveying of water meters.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a commercial loss management strategy aligned with the company’s strategic plan and balance scorecard.
Identify new Management Information System developments and write the necessary system specifications.
Manage commercial loss risk management in JWater.
Manage projects for the on-site surveying of water meters.
Analyze surveyed data to ensure accurate billing-related information (Data Cleansing) and accurate statistics for decision-making.
Identify, implement, and manage proactive meter replacement programs.
Ensure proper maintenance of the Management Information System (Data Cleansing Database) containing relevant data of surveyed properties.
Investigate reported criminal irregularities (theft & misuse of water) and issue Compliance Notices to transgressors.
Manage the full project cycle survey contracts, including capturing, issuing, analyzing, and updating data.
Assist CAPEX to manage meter replacement (Commercial Loss’ Project) and meter fault contracts (JWater Project).
Ensure the quality of on-site work done by contractors is according to JWater standards.
Investigate, resolve, or refer queries escalated to the section to relevant stakeholders.
Develop individual and team competence, manage workplace climate, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
Plan, develop, and manage the Operating Expenditure Budget for Commercial Loss.

Job Requirements:
Essential qualifications and experience:

Business / Engineering / IT / Finance related Diploma or Degree (NQF 6 / 7)
8 years working experience with 4 years at a management level, minimum 3 years in data/systems analysis or business analysis, and 1-year meter billing related experience.
Code B driver’s license.

Remuneration: R329,376 Basic Salary per annum

Purpose:
To perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical plant and equipment within the process plant while prioritizing employee safety in accordance with OHAS, SANS, and JW safety norms and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Fill in logbooks and vehicle check sheets as per JW Vehicle Policy.
Conduct risk assessments before each job and escalate high-risk situations to the Ops Manager.
Participate in the JW safety program by attending safety and training meetings.
Supervise subordinates to achieve section’s goals and objectives.
Repair and install various pumps, including ferric, chlorine, lime, and polly pumps, ensuring employee safety.
Install and align belt press cloths, repair and install valves, and handle the installation and removal of motors, pumps, valves, and pipework.
Unblock sewer pipelines and pumps within the process plant boundary.
Perform maintenance on conveyer systems, boilers, compressors, digester plant, settling tanks, and mechanical equipment.
Perform standby duties as per JW collective agreement.

Job Requirements:
Essential qualifications and experience:

Trade Certificate (NQF4) Mechanical
2 years’ experience in maintenance, overhauling, and repairs of mechanical equipment.
Knowledge of Basic Occupational Health and Safety in the workplace.
License code EB
Specific Occupational Medical Fitness.
