Department of Public Works and Infrastructure Vacancies – 1 Job

The Department of Public Works and Infrastructure is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following vacancies:

Kenneth Ezeh

The Department of Public Works is an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer. Our aim is to promote representativity in the Public Service through the filling of these posts, giving preference to candidates whose appointment will promote representativity. Candidates indicating their representativity status will aid in the processing of applications. If no suitable candidates from unrepresented groups can be recruited, candidates from represented groups will be considered. People with disabilities are encouraged to apply.

NOTE: With effect from January 1, 2021, the DPSA approved the new Z83 Application Form (obtainable from any Public Service department). Applicants must use the new application form, and the Z83 form must be signed upon submission; failure to do so will result in disqualification. The completion of the new Z83 form requires Part A and B to be fully filled, Part C on method of correspondence and contact details to be fully filled, and two questions under Part F related to conditions that prevent reappointment to be fully answered. Page 1 must be initialed; failure to comply will result in disqualification.

To streamline the recruitment process and create protective measures during the pandemic, applicants are not required to submit copies of qualifications and other relevant documents upon application. Only the Z83 form and a detailed Curriculum Vitae are required. Communication from HR regarding requirements for certified documents will be limited to shortlisted candidates. Therefore, only shortlisted candidates will be required to submit certified documents before the interview date, following communication from HR.

The Z83 form states in the “additional information” section that candidates selected for interviews will be requested to furnish additional certified information as needed for the final decision.

Applicants are reminded that certification of documents as true copies does not validate the authenticity of the original document; validation occurs during the verification process. Regulation 67 (9) requires the executive authority to be fully satisfied of the claims made, and Regulation (57) (c) mandates Personnel Suitability Checks to verify claims and check the candidate’s fit for employment. Applications not complying with these requirements will be disqualified.

It is the responsibility of all applicants to ensure that foreign and other qualifications are evaluated by SAQA. Recognition of prior learning will only be considered upon submission of proof by candidates. Appointment will be subject to verification of qualifications and security clearance. Faxed or late applications will not be accepted. Shortlisted candidates must be willing to undergo normal vetting and verification processes. If you have not heard from us within the next 3 months, please regard your application as unsuccessful.
