POST 10/183: DEPUTY DIRECTOR-GENERAL: AFRICA

Branch: Africa
SALARY: R1 663 581 per annum
CENTRE: Pretoria

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Undergraduate and postgraduate qualification (NQF level 8) in Political Science or related fields recognized by SAQA
  • 8 years of experience at senior managerial level in International Relations or related fields
  • Competencies in strategic capability, leadership, people management, programme and project management, financial management, change management, problem-solving, communication, negotiation, and diplomacy skills

DUTIES:

  • Manage Branch: Africa and diplomatic missions in Africa
  • Support and advise Political Principals and Director-General
  • Provide inputs to Cabinet Committees, Portfolio Committee, and other structures on political priorities, policy recommendations, and strategies
  • Assist with policy formulation
  • Strengthen political and economic relations to promote South Africa’s trade, investment, and tourism potential
  • Manage internal and external stakeholder relations
  • Supervise implementation of foreign policy decisions and bilateral relations

POST 10/184: HEAD OF OPERATIONS: ARF SECRETARIAT

Branch: African Renaissance Fund (ARF)
SALARY: R1 162 200 per annum
CENTRE: Pretoria

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Relevant undergraduate qualification (NQF7) in Financial Management or related fields recognized by SAQA
  • 5 years’ experience at middle management level in Financial Management, Administration, and Operations
  • Knowledge of SA’s foreign policy, diplomacy, African development, and international development cooperation
  • Experience with international diplomatic practices, negotiation, communication, marketing, and stakeholder management
  • Competencies in project management, decision making, strategic leadership, people management, and quality management

DUTIES:

  • Strategic management of the ARF Secretariat
  • Co-ordinate Secretariat activities and manage ARF Programme/Project Agreements
  • Market ARF goals and programmes
  • Develop operational Policy Guideline and strategy for partnerships
  • Facilitate partnerships with relevant agencies and institutions
  • Provide legal and contractual advice and support
  • Render secretariat services to the ARF Advisory Committee
