Job Description:
Rhodes University seeks to appoint individuals at Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor level in the Department of Fine Art. The department invites suitably qualified candidates to apply. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, research, and contributing to the overall academic environment of the department.

Requirements:

  • Lecturer: Master’s degree in Fine Art/Visual Arts, with progress towards a PhD. Teaching ability across various art-making media areas is preferred.
  • Senior Lecturer: PhD in Fine Art/Visual Arts preferred. Teaching experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels required.
  • Associate Professor/Professor: PhD in Fine Art/Visual Arts required. Extensive teaching experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels preferred.

Remuneration:

  • Lecturer: R600,141 per annum (Basic salary)
  • Senior Lecturer: R742,411 per annum (Basic salary)
  • Associate Professor: R887,318 per annum (Basic salary)
  • Professor: R1,086,915 per annum (Basic salary)

Fundraising and Development Manager

Job Description:
Rhodes University seeks a dynamic individual to join the Communications and Advancement Division as the Fundraising and Development Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing and monitoring the fundraising and development strategy, providing specialist input, and managing relationships with donors to encourage continued support for the university.

Main Objectives:

  • Support the overall divisional strategy by executing and monitoring the fundraising and development strategy.
  • Lead and manage the fundraising and development section, implementing stewardship strategies for donors.
  • Provide input into the conceptualization of the divisional strategy.

Requirements:

  • Relevant 3-year tertiary qualification with approximately 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Previous experience in fundraising or relationship development roles.
  • Demonstrable success in running projects aimed at achieving support for philanthropic programs.
  • At least 3 years of management experience.
  • Experience working with senior management in an organization where strategic input is required.

Remuneration per annum (Grade 16):

  • Basic Pensionable Salary per annum: R 763,272
  • Cost to Company per annum (Approximately): R 984,586
