The Eastern Cape Parks and Tourism Agency (ECPTA) has the following vacancies:
IMCT Database Specialist
Organization: Eastern Cape Parks & Tourism Agency
Location: Head Office, East London
Level: C Upper
Closing Date: April 2, 2024
Purpose:
The Database Specialist, reporting to the IMCT Manager, will oversee database production maintenance, plan, design, and develop new databases or applications, and ensure the correct configuration of development software. Daily database system tasks will also be managed by the Database Specialist.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Information Technology or relevant NQF 7 qualification
- Minimum of 5 years’ relevant work experience
- Certificate in Microsoft DBA is advantageous
- Valid Driving license preferred
- Extensive experience in data and software development, SQL server configuration
- In-depth knowledge of ERP systems (preferably SAGE 200 evolution) and payroll systems such as VIP premier
Key Performance Areas:
- Database Backup: Regular backups and testing on all databases.
- Report Writing: Develop and present reports effectively, particularly on Pastel.
- System Development: Plan, design, analyze, develop coding, and program systems.
- Database Administration: Develop and maintain databases.
- System Support: Provide technical support to SAGE 200 evolution (Pastel) and other database systems.
